Like most states, Arizona is in for trying times as federal agencies try to balance recreation with all the other needs for public lands. Thank goodness AZ has a bunch of great folks working cooperatively with agency landowners/managers. If you've not explored there, I can tell you it is worth having on your bucket list as this state is full of surprisingly beatiful country and great adventuring, not to mention some awe-inspiring scenery.
