WORKDAY: AUG. 7, 2004 CLEANUP OF SPIDER LAKE

Spider Lake, by Jesse Rivers.....one reason we devote our hard work and sweat to this awesome trail.

Mark Langford rallied the troops and organized the Spider Lake Cleanup. Here everyone gets a briefing on how the cleanup will be conducted.

Jack Sweeney, El Dorado County Board of Supervisors, meets part of the cleanup crew. Jack jumped in with his family to help with the cleanup (more on page 2).

Before: A digusting pile of waste and garbage found behind some rocks. You have to ask yourself what kind of person would leave such a mess? Not one of us...we know that.

During: Back-breaking hard work was the menu for the day. Cleanup crews tackle the disgusting pile shown in the photo to the left.

After the cleanup crew got done with the pile, it returns to a natural look (and smell).

About 60 folks, including kids, came to cleanup Spider Lake. The future of our sport is walking in these rocks. What a lesson to learn at this age.....
