RUBICON TRAIL: JURISDICTION

The Rubicon Trail is a non-maintained public road, running through El Dorado and Placer Counties.

It traverses through National Forest (USFS) and private land, but it is a public road with the requirements for licensed vehciles, or a Green or Red Sticker.

More here.

The County Board of Supervisors take pride in having the Rubicon Trail in El Dorado County (and some of it in Placer County).  It is part of the County mainstay for economic income for businesses in the County -- tourism and recreation

The Rubicon Trail is surrounded by private property and USDA Forest Service lands. Any time you get off the right of way for the public road, you are in either private or federal land. Stay on the trail and respect the property of others. This is the only way that we can assure our access in the future.
