RUBICON: Robb's Resort Gets Hit by Environmental Emissions Standards -- but stays in business! NOTE: just because they can't sell gas right now, doesn't mean they aren't a great place to stay. In fact, they are very supportive of our FOTR efforts. Do Robbs. Give them a try. Status as of July 11, 2003 I spoke with the El Dorado County Air District today (the ones that control all this in the county). Here's the scoop: Air emission standards have tightened up (heightened) under new rulings (probaly from CA Air Resources Board and county rules as well). 2006 Note: Robbs Resort was one of our helpers and partners. Check this out. |
Robb's is done pumping gas (except for their personal use and some emergency needs). The truck (tanker) and the dispensing system is so far from compliance that it'll never meet standards without tons of money or a revamping of the system to include vapor recovery. Done deal. They won't be selling gas for a while. The new system will have to meet air standards (vapor recovery) and meet county Weights and Measures Standards. Ice house is fine on gas. They'll be pumping all summer and for the next year. As of 5/04, Robb's generator situation is out of compliance with tightened emission standards, but the county is working with Robb's to help them get thru this. Technically Robb's is out of compliance on the generator, but they have not received a shut down order on it. You can buy gas and services at Icehouse all summer All I have for now. Del |
