RUBICON TRAIL
KIOSK RELOCATION PLAN

May 2004: we ended up moving the kiosk by wrecker and semi/trailer. You've got to see this!

HISTORICAL INFORMATION FROM HERE DOWN...

Here's the scheme of things how we're going to do the kiosk project (roughly);

1. Tranport materials site (Friday, 9/5 or early Sat. 9/6).

2. Layout foundation for new location with laser level and chalk lines, etc. Set locations for piers.

3. Drill granite for rebar anchors for each pier. Set rebar (epoxy and cement).

4. Pour footings for piers; set piers (leveled). Add Simpson Ties to piers while wet.

5. Center and lay girders on pier Simpson Ties. Then we'll just wait until we get the copter, and move the building to this new foundation.

If we have enough bodies, then simultaneously, another crew will be:

6. Detaching existing building from posts (setting on top of piers) and sawing the supporting brackets/braces, preparing the building for lifting (which will happen later).

After the building gets moved, we'll have crews and clubs do things like cleanup, dismantle stuff we don't need in there; remove old insulation board; install new plywood paneling; install book shelves; install windows; etc. And of course, paint prep and painting. Oh, and we have to replace the roofing as well. I will have all the material (as of 9/5/03)

Depending on the crew sign up, we'll have the following jobs in our Recreational Incident Command System:

Incident Commander: Del Albright

Operations Chief:

Demolition Team Leader:

Construction Team Leader: Nick Collin

Logistics Chief and Supply Team Leader: Randii Burleson

Concrete Crew Leader:

Rock Drilling Crew Leader:

The Chain of Command will look like this:

Incident Commander
Logistics Chief Operations Chief
Demolition Team Leader Construction Team Leader
Saw Crew Leader
Concrete Crew Leader
Jacking Crew Leader
Rock Drilling Crew Leader
Construction Crew Leader
NOTE: Some folks may have more than one job here. Also, some Crews will be only one or two people. It's not as staff heavy as it seems! :)
